Portmeirion Talisman Canister

This amazing Portmeirion canister was a relatively recent Ebay find and features the Talisman pattern designed by Susan Williams-Ellis.  Talisman was introduced in the early 1960s and came in different colourways, including yellow and orange, and blue and cerise.

The Portmeirion pottery was founded by Susan Williams-Ellis and her husband Euan Cooper-Willis in 1962 - it resulted from their combined purchase of A.E. Gray & Co  and Kirkham Potteries and was named after Portmeirion, the Welsh seaside town designed by Susan's architect father, Clough Williams-Ellis.

Coveting: Magic City.
Also love the Portmeirion Botanic Garden and Birds of Britain designs, still wondering whether to start on those . . .
